A sports enthusiast since his childhood, Nicola DeParis is now a referee for the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation. He simultaneously studies at the University of Lausanne, in HEC Lausanne.
Growing up in Boston Massachusetts, he started playing ice hockey when he was 4. Coming in Lausanne in 2006, Nicola stuck with the sport and reached the Swiss’ top
youth leagues with Lausanne Hockey Club. When he was not in hockey rinks, Nicola was a student at the Gymnase Auguste Piccard, which offered him the opportunity to study in a special class for Switzerland's top athletes. After several injuries, Nicola decided to stop his player’s career to become a referee. He is currently a linesman in the 1ère Ligue category, and will handle his first international tournament in November.
He is currently a second year Bachelor student in Management at HEC Lausanne.
Being the captain of his hockey team for a few seasons, he is also passionate about Leadership and Management. He is fluent in French, English and Italian.
